Default Kraytonian Space Squadron

Hi, I've recently 'discovered' Dark Realm miniatures at Salute 2010 and was drawn to the Kraytonian space fleet with their unique style. Here's a couple of photos of my first attempts to paint them.

Closeup of the cruiser and escort (adapted from a light tank).

Those look pretty darn good.

any chance we can get some more pics without the slight glare of the flash or light?

Thanks guys!

Varagon,
I need to find my light tent so I can take some pictures of the individual ships with less glare.

Nanite,
The little ship is a Kratonian Gara field teleporter, I just left the rear pylon off. It look just right as some kind of escort or an armed tug/service boat. Plenty of engine and a big, boxy body compared to the sleek, aggressive warships but the sculpting styles are compatible.
I also tried to adapt an Arkiten fighter but it did not look right so I may cut the wings off and add them to some frigate so they can act as destroyer leaders/light cruisers.

Nice work. Clever adaptation of the tank too, very imaginative.

Wow. Those look excellent. Looks like they didn't take too much time, but good technique and great color choice.

I'd like to see a swarm of these puppies on the table now!

Thanks Varagon, you'r right, it's not a time intensive technique but it does make use of many years of experience with washes and glazes. I've another batch of frigates to paint, when I do I'll post a step by step pictorial to show how it goes.

Sorry, no fleet shoot until the battleship is ready

After re-reading my post, I'm glad you didn't take offense to it. I meant that you've developed a time saving technique (from experience and hard work) to create great looking minis.

I'm glad I didn't get yelled at! I didn't mean to sound like I was belittling your paintjobs.

They look great and will look nice on the table against a "spaced out" terrain top.

No battleship yet for a group shot but I do have a first attempt at a work in progress gallery to shown how I achieved the effect:
